Renters (Rights) Bill 2025
What is the Renters (Rights) Bill?
The Renters (Reform) Bill is a proposed change in housing law that affects how landlords and tenants manage tenancies in England. One of the biggest changes is the plan to scrap Section 21 “no-fault” evictions. Instead, landlords will need to give a valid reason to end a tenancy, such as rent arrears or anti-social behaviour.
The good news is: landlords will still be able to regain possession of their property — and the process is being streamlined to make it faster and fairer. The bill also introduces one type of tenancy (periodic), meaning more flexibility for both landlords and tenants.
